Modern Slavery Statement
Modern slavery is a heinous crime and Difrnt operates a zero tolerance commitment to slavery and human trafficking. Under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act), we are dedicated to ensuring that human trafficking, slavery, forced or compulsory labour and/or servitude does not take place at any point in our business or in our supply chains.
This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, seconded workers, volunteers, agents, contractors and suppliers.
Difrnt PC strictly prohibits the use of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain. We have and will continue to be committed to implementing systems and controls aimed at ensuring that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within our organisation or in any of our supply chains. We expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Modern slavery is a term used to encompass slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, bonded and child labour and human trafficking. Human trafficking is where a person arranges or facilitates the travel of another person with a view to that person being exploited. Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights.
We work with hundreds of suppliers who are largely based in the UK (over 95%), with the remainder of its supply chain from Europe, USA and the Far East. We therefore consider that there is a relatively low risk of modern slavery and/or human trafficking occurring within our supply chain, however we strive to ensure that we have the right procedures and practises in place to be able to operate ethically.
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in our organisation and our supply chains. The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any part of our organisation or supply chain is the responsibility of all those working for us or on our behalf. Workers must not engage in, facilitate or fail to report any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy.
We are committed to engaging with our stakeholders and suppliers to address the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain.
We recognise that due diligence processes and reporting are essential management tools to improve risk identification.
We undertake stringent due diligence processes to ensure we only use suppliers who share our commitment to ethical practices. We seek to prevent modern slavery from occurring in the course of our operations by ensuring fully committing to our Supplier Code of Conduct and obtaining slavery policies, vetting and removing suppliers, where needed.
We conduct all business in an ethical manner and are committed to being a transparent organisation and employer. We do not consider there to be a high risk of slavery or human trafficking within our workforce, and ensure a robust recruitment process, incorporating ‘right to work’ document checks, contracts of employment and ensuring everyone employed is 16 years or above. A comprehensive Employee Handbook which has a range of procedures to support in preventing modern slavery from occurring in our workplace, training on the Modern Slavery Act and human trafficking.
